Lisa Lougheed grew up listening to her brother Danny's record collection, which included the O'Jays and Rose Royce. She attended Etobicoke's School of the Arts for four years, and her first professional job was part of Canada's Wonderland's stage troupe as a singer and dancer. At seventeen she was one of the featured voices on the soundtrack of the animated series The Raccoons.

Her performances gained her a 1988 Juno nomination as Most Promising Female Vocalist. That same year she enjoyed minor success with the hit, Run With Us.

Lougheed signed a recording contract with Warner Music Canada in 1991. Her debut album, World Love (Where in Chapman's name can I find a copy?)ácame out in March 1992. Love Vibe and the title track were the first two singles. In 1993 she released her second album, Peace And Harmony. The first single and video was "Won't Give Up My Music".
